Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to your most commonly asked questions:

Training is held at the all-new headquarters in Plano, TX.  Our address: Toyota Motor North America, Inc. 6565 Headquarters Drive Plano, TX 75024

Our campus is quite large with many entry points, so choosing the correct entrance can be somewhat overwhelming. If you’re driving or being dropped off by a shuttle service, be sure to enter through the Lexus building (E3), which can be accessed off the Legacy Drive entrance. When you arrive, you’ll need to check in at any of the kiosks located in the lobby. You will receive a guest badge from one of the Security Officers. Someone from the Warranty department will meet you at the front desk to escort you to the training class.

Currently, we have three training courses:

  • Foundations I is an introductory class intended for warranty administrators new to their role and/or Toyota/Lexus.
  • Foundations II is geared for the more seasoned warranty administrator who is looking for a refresher or some tips for more efficient claims processing.
  • Warranty Excellence is designed for Service Managers/Directors. We’ll discuss topics that affect their day-to-day tasks, such as RO documentation and WPI.
You’ll find additional details for each course by clicking on the Lexus or Toyota Course Descriptions section of our website.

  • The cost for Foundations I and Foundations II is $265 per attendee. We provide a hot breakfast and lunch. Several breaks throughout the day will help keep you energized.
  • Please contact us directly to inquire about the cost associated for our Warranty Excellence course.

Hotel and travel are arranged and paid for individually by your dealer.

If you register for a class that’s full, you’ll automatically be placed on the waiting list. Because we rarely have cancellations, we recommend checking the calendar for an alternate date.

  • We understand that life happens in your line of work and that can create some unexpected scheduling conflicts. Please let us know as soon as possible if you are unable to attend so we have ample time to give someone on the wait list the opportunity to make arrangements to attend.
  • If you are unable to attend and do not provide notice, a $265 charge will be assessed for no-shows.

These one-day training classes run from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. CST.

  • Bring a pen and notepad to take plenty of notes. You don’t need to bring a laptop–just be prepared to ask plenty of questions during our open discussion.
  • If you’re attending Warranty Foundations II, bring examples of some of your more challenging claims along with the closed repair orders so you can practice what you’ve learned. These claim examples should either be in Pending Judgment or Pending Audit status.

Business casual is fine. Jeans are OK too. Dress comfortably and bring a sweater or jacket as the classroom can be on the cooler side.

We strongly recommend our instructor-led training, but we also understand that some of you may be unable to attend our training.  We provide the following Warranty eLearning modules that you can access at any time:

  • E260, E261 and E262 are available through the University of Toyota (UOT). For additional information, visit the Claims Processing & Resource Center and click on the “Claim Processing Center & Training” tab.
